Samuel Perry, the popular Nigerian comic actor widely known as Broda Shaggi, is currently receiving medical treatment after being shot while filming on location.
The incident reportedly occurred around the Sango Ota bridge in Ogun State. The skit maker was allegedly shot in the leg during the attack.
He was initially rushed to a medical facility in the Alakuko area of Lagos before being transferred to another hospital in the Government Residential Area (GRA) of Ikeja for further treatment.
Confirming the incident to the media on Friday, Ogun State Police Command spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi stated that while an attack took place, authorities are still trying to determine the exact location and circumstances.
“Thank God you said alleged. We cannot confirm that it happened within our jurisdiction. We can confirm that he is in Lagos. I am trying to communicate with Broda Shaggi, but I have not gotten to him yet,” Babaseyi stated.
Abimbola Adebisi, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, also confirmed the incident. Adebisi explained that the command was initially alerted by a hospital that had admitted a patient with a gunshot wound. When officers arrived at the facility, they discovered the victim was the famous content creator.
Although the shooting reportedly took place outside of Lagos State, Adebisi assured the public that an active investigation is underway to track down and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
Broda Shaggi’s management has not yet released an official statement regarding the actor’s current condition.
