Nigerian comedian and politician, Seyi Law, has stated that the administration of President Bola Tinubu has provided better security for the country compared to previous governments.

Seyi Law shared his thoughts during a yet to be released episode of the Honest Bunch podcast. One of the hosts asked him if Nigeria is safer today than it was a decade ago.

He answered affirmatively and compared the current security situation to the administrations of Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari.

The comedian claimed that the current government has neutralized more bandits and reduced the frequency of bomb blasts across the country.

“Nigeria is safer now than 10 years ago. This government has killed more bandits since Jonathan’s. When have you last heard of a bomb blast? It is not today that they have been kidnapping people in their houses,” he said.

The 42-year-old politician, who supported Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, also commented on the financial state of the country.

“Nigeria’s economy is better than Tinubu met it,” he added.

However, another guest on the podcast immediately disagreed with his stance. The unnamed guest argued that the country is currently more unsafe than it has ever been.

Nigeria continues to face security issues from groups like Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province, and local bandits.

A recent report from the National Human Rights Commission noted that at least 2,266 people were killed by armed groups during the first half of 2025. This figure surpasses the total number of related deaths recorded in all of 2024.
