Nigerian billionaire and politician, Senator Ned Nwoko, has reportedly been linked to the arrest of Ann, a close friend of his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, following a police operation in Lagos State on Monday.
Ann was arrested by officers of the Nigeria Police Force from the Ajah Division, sparking widespread reactions on social media after a video of the arrest surfaced online.
The incident was made public by Regina Daniels’ elder brother, Sammy, who shared footage of the arrest on his Instagram page. According to Sammy, the police arrived with a court order authorising Ann’s detention over allegations of conspiracy, assault and theft.
In the video, Ann was seen being taken into custody as onlookers questioned the circumstances surrounding the arrest. Sammy alleged that the action was connected to ongoing personal disputes involving his sister and Senator Nwoko, although he did not provide further details.
He claimed that Ann’s arrest was unjustified and accused unnamed individuals of using law enforcement agencies to intimidate those close to Regina Daniels. His post quickly attracted thousands of reactions, with supporters and critics debating the matter online.
As of press time, the Lagos State Police Command had not issued an official statement confirming the arrest or providing details of the allegations against Ann. Police sources, however, said suspects are often detained based on petitions and court orders pending further investigation.
