Reality TV star, Neo Akpofure, has vehemently denied a rape allegation leveled against him on social media, with his legal team threatening immediate court action if the accuser fails to retract the claim.

The controversy erupted on X (formerly Twitter) when a user identified as @notralia accused the former Big Brother Naija housemate of sexual assault, alleging the incident occurred during their time as students at the University of Calabar (UNICAL).

In a decisive move to clear his name, Neo’s legal representatives, the law firm of E.L. Akpofure, SAN & Co., issued a formal demand letter on Wednesday, rejecting the accusation in its entirety as false and defamatory.

The letter, which Neo shared on his X handle, argued that the publication has inflicted serious reputational and emotional damage on the star, effectively portraying him as a criminal and a sexual offender to the public.

The legal notice outlined strict conditions for the accuser to meet within a 48-hour deadline to avoid litigation.

These include the immediate removal of the offending post from all platforms, the issuance of an unreserved apology and retraction of the claim, and a signed agreement to refrain from making further defamatory statements about Neo.

Failure to do so will result in the swift initiation of legal proceedings, the letter warned.

As of the time of this report, the accuser has not publicly responded to the legal threat. The incident adds to a growing wave of social media accusations in the Nigerian digital space, coming just days after a separate viral allegation involving a TikTok user named Mirabel.

Neo, known for his time in the Big Brother Naija house, has maintained his innocence, with his team signaling they are prepared to go the full distance to protect his image.
