Popular social media influencer, King Mitchy, has issued a comprehensive public apology following weeks of online controversy that climaxed with a disturbing live-streamed incident.

The drama originated from a public feud between Mitchy and online activist VeryDarkMan regarding the authenticity of her charitable endeavors.

The activist had questioned Mitchy’s claim that she completed a school renovation project in just six days. The dispute escalated when VeryDarkMan alleged that Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, was the secret financier behind her philanthropic work, a claim Seyi subsequently denied.

The situation took a dark turn when an emotional Mitchy appeared on an Instagram live stream and consumed a substance believed to be “Hypo,” a popular brand of bleach.

Shortly after the stream, her management posted a now-deleted statement claiming the influencer had died, which they later retracted.

Now appearing in a new video on her Instagram page, Mitchy has admitted her faults and apologized for the chaos, stating she is ready to take full responsibility for her actions.

“I am ready to be held accountable for my actions. For some days, I have thought about my behaviour. I know that I was wrong. I should be held accountable.

“For the substance I took on live video, that was very wrong of me because young girls are looking up to me. I disappointed a lot of people,” Mitchy stated.

The influencer then offered specific apologies to the key figures involved in the saga. She first addressed Seyi Tinubu, referring to him as “ST”.

“My Boss, ST, I am sorry. I know I have apologised privately, but I did not disrespect you privately; I disrespected you publicly, so I want to apologise publicly that I am sorry, Sir,” she said. “I want you to know that I have never taken your support for granted and I would never take your support for granted.”

Mitchy also apologized to the revered Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, expressing deep regret for drawing the monarch into the online conflict.

“The Ooni of Ife, I am so sorry, Sir. For bringing your name into this, Daddy,” she expressed.

Finally, she extended an olive branch to her initial detractor, VeryDarkMan, acknowledging his role as a social activist.

“To VeryDarkMan, my brother, I see what we’re fighting for. You are fighting for Nigerians. We can make Nigeria a better place. I am sorry for coming at you like that,” she stated.

“Maybe now, I understand you better because I had to step back and understand the kind of person that you are. I know you’re fighting for a good cause, for Nigeria to be better, and you need more supporters, not people to fight you. I am sorry, my brother. Thank you, Nigerians,” she added.
