UEFA has released its latest ranking of the top performers in the Champions League, with Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe and Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen emerging as the joint leaders for the most Player of the Match (POTM) awards following the conclusion of the league phase.

According to the list published on Monday, both strikers, alongside Atalanta’s Charles De Ketelaere, secured the prestigious accolade three times each across the eight matches played so far.

Their consistency has been pivotal in driving their respective clubs into the knockout stages of Europe’s premier club competition.

The ranking highlights the immense impact Osimhen has had since joining the Turkish giants. Despite playing in a league often considered outside Europe’s “Big Five,” the Nigerian forward’s continental form has remained elite, matching the output of global superstar Mbappe.

While Mbappe, Osimhen, and De Ketelaere sit at the summit with three awards apiece, the rest of the top 10 is populated by players who have earned the recognition twice.

This group includes Premier League standout Anthony Gordon of Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain’s Nuno Mendes.

The complete list of players recognized for their outstanding individual performances includes:

  1. Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid) – 3 awards
  2. Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray) – 3 awards
  3. Charles De Ketelaere (Atalanta) – 3 awards
  4. Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United) – 2 awards
  5. Nuno Mendes (PSG) – 2 awards
  6. Jens Petter Hauge (Bodo/Glimt) – 2 awards
  7. Kenan Yildiz (Juventus) – 2 awards
  8. Giuliano Simeone (Atlético Madrid) – 2 awards
  9. Gelson Martins (Olympiacos) – 2 awards
  10. Marcus Thuram (Inter Milan) – 2 awards

The Player of the Match award is decided by UEFA’s technical observers based on performance metrics such as goals, assists, defensive contributions, and overall influence on the game.

With the knockout phase set to begin, the leaderboard offers an early glimpse into the frontrunners for the season-ending individual honors.
