Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has approved the payment of a 13th-month salary bonus popularly known in the state as the “Eno-mber” package for all public sector workers ahead of the 2025 Christmas celebrations.

The governor announced the approval on Monday through a message shared on his social media platforms, shortly after directing the State Accountant General to commence immediate disbursement of the funds.

“I have directed the Accountant General to pay the 13th-month Eno-mber salary before Christmas, so our workers can celebrate with ease. Happy New Month,” Eno posted.

The 13th-month salary is a widely recognised end-of-year bonus, often equivalent to an extra month’s pay, designed to help employees meet seasonal expenses such as travel, gifts, festive preparations, and personal obligations.

This latest approval marks the third consecutive year Governor Eno has authorised the bonus for Akwa Ibom public servants further entrenching the “Eno-mber” payment as an annual gesture of appreciation and financial relief during the holiday period.

Many workers view the sustained bonus as a demonstration of the administration’s commitment to improving welfare and reducing financial hardship during the festive season.

Governor Eno’s worker-friendly policies have been consistent. In December 2024, he also implemented a new ₦80,000 minimum wage for all public servants, placing Akwa Ibom among the states offering the highest wage packages in the country.

The 2025 “Eno-mber” salary is expected to hit workers’ accounts before Christmas, giving thousands of families in the state a financial boost as the holiday season peaks.
