Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has officially spoken out following the highly publicized and tense public encounter with her colleague, Funke Akindele.

The awkward incident took place on Sunday during the star-studded premiere of “The Return of Arinzo,” a movie produced by Iyabo Ojo.

In the viral footage that has since dominated social media, Abraham is seen approaching Akindele’s table to offer a greeting.

However, Akindele appeared to completely ignore the gesture, keeping her gaze fixed elsewhere. Following the snub, Abraham turned to greet Ojo before eventually walking away from the table.

The brief clip sparked a flurry of reactions online. Many of Abraham’s loyal fans heavily criticized Akindele’s behavior, describing it as “disrespectful” and “childish.”

Others, however, argued that Abraham should not have extended a greeting in the first place if the two actresses were not on good terms. Amid the ongoing online debate, an X (formerly Twitter) user named Oscar Yankee expressed disappointment over the incident.

The fan noted that Abraham had put her own supporters in an awkward position by attempting to force a greeting where it was not welcomed.

“Dear Mummy Ire @toyin_abraham1 Edakun nii tori olorun we ur fans aren’t happy with what happened yesterday,” the user wrote. “Efi Kiki le fuun Eni tor deserve e please. Respect is Reciprocal .. Ema fii oju wa gbo ile beyen mor. We love u Always ma’am keep Shining.”

In response to the concerned fan, Abraham issued a public apology and vowed that she would avoid similar situations in the future.

Taking to her X account, the actress responded in Yoruba, writing: “Emabinu simi, iru e ko tu ni somo lowo mi mo, I love you all.” This translates to a heartfelt apology and a firm promise that such an incident will not happen again.

The online exchange follows a subtle show of support from Abraham’s husband, Kolawole Ajewole, who previously reacted to the drama by defending his wife in the aftermath of the premiere.
