Folarin Falana, the popular Nigerian rapper widely known as Falz, has responded to a fan who advised him to get married, addressing the unsolicited message with a mix of humor and perspective.
On Sunday, the 35 year old artist took to his Instagram story to share the message he received. In the note, the fan actively encouraged him to settle down, pointing to other celebrities who have already taken the marital step.
In a follow-up video, Falz made it clear that he was not offended by the remark. He observed that many Nigerians place a significant value on marriage and often expect public figures to conform to that societal ideal.
“It is not your fault. I am the one who chose to be an entertainer, that means my life is your entertainment,” he said, noting that many people naturally feel deeply invested in the personal lives of celebrities.
He then joked about the idea of approaching the entire matter as a casual trial. “I should just do a quick matrimonial experiment, let’s just see,” he said.
The conversation around the rapper’s marital status traces back to August 2025, when Falz shared a series of photos depicting him in a traditional wedding ceremony.
The images sparked intense speculation that he was preparing to tie the knot, but he later clarified that the photos were merely part of a visual project tied to his music.
The movie star and musician had previously expressed uncertainty about marriage in July 2024. During that same year, he disclosed that he had not been in a committed relationship since 2008.
More recently, in April 2025, Falz stated that he remained single because he had not found anyone who genuinely liked him.
