The College of Bishops, Imams and Clergy Councils (CBICCN) has named the senator representing Imo West, Senator Rochas Okorocha as hero of national unity for what it described as heroic disposition to national unity and cohesion.

At a prayer rally in Abuja on Thursday to mark the senator’s 59th birthday, the council cried to God to preserve the life of the senator representing Imo west in the upper chamber of the National Assembly for the betterment of Nigeria’s future.

“Only if we have a few People with the cosmopolitan mindset of the celebrant, Nigeria will be a much better place”.

The council also inaugurated the 1st edition of Rochas Okorocha National day of prayer and held a joint prayer session of Bishops and Imams praying for unity of the country.

Bishop Abel King , President of the council as well as Muhammed Aburbarkar, national coordinator of the council said Rochas Okorocha is a true hero and a worthy leader who has demonstrated national unity and cohesion in his personal life, politics and business endeavors.

“As you can see , both the Christian and Muslim clerics are here” to partake in this very historic inaugural national day of prayer for Rochas Okorocha.

” The Rochas Foundation college exemplifies the hero in Okorocha. He is a leader whose humanity and love transcends religion, politics and ethnicity.”

The clergy led a joint delegation to present the award of ‘Hero of National Unity’ to senator Rochas okorocha at the international conference center.

The clergy further urged the senator to continue to avail himself for national service untill national unity and cohesion is restored and our national heritage redeemed.
