Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has expressed confidence in newly appointed Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Rob Edwards to help the club recover from their poor start to the 2025/26 season.
Wolves have struggled significantly in the early stages of the campaign, accumulating just two points from their opening fixtures and currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table.
The team’s disappointing form led to the departure of former head coach Vitor Pereira, who was relieved of his duties after a series of underwhelming performances.
The latest setback came on Saturday when Wolves suffered a 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Molineux, a result that further deepened concerns among fans about the club’s relegation battle.
Speaking ahead of the team’s next fixtures, Arokodare expressed optimism that Edwards possesses the experience and tactical acumen required to steer Wolves out of the danger zone.

“I believe Rob Edwards can turn things around,” the Nigerian forward said. “The team has quality players, and with the right guidance, they can start picking up points and climbing the table.”
Edwards, who officially took charge earlier this month, faces the immediate challenge of improving Wolves’ attacking efficiency and defensive stability.
Analysts point out that the team has struggled both in front of goal and at the back, which has contributed to their poor start. Arokodare highlighted that restoring confidence among the players will be key to the turnaround.
“Players need belief and direction,” Arokodare added. “Rob Edwards has a reputation for motivating teams, and I’m confident he can get the best out of this squad.”
Fans and pundits are watching closely to see whether Wolves can respond positively under new leadership. The club will be aiming to secure crucial points in their upcoming matches to avoid slipping further into relegation territory.
Despite the challenges, Arokodare remains upbeat about the team’s prospects. “It’s never too late to recover,” he said. “With hard work, focus, and support from the fans, Wolves can escape the relegation fight and finish the season strongly.”
As Wolves begin this critical phase under Edwards, all eyes will be on the Nigerian forward and his teammates to see if they can translate their potential into results and restore hope at Molineux.
