Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has expressed grief over the death of Onwubuariri Peter Chukwuemeka, an Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations at the Presidential Villa.
Yusuf also commiserated with the deceased’s family, colleagues at the Presidential Villa, the Presidential media team and the Federal Government over the loss.
The governor’s condolence was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad.
Yusuf described Onwubuariri as a committed public servant who made valuable contributions to government information management and public communication during his service at the Presidential Villa.
He said the death of the official was a painful loss not only to his immediate family but also to colleagues and professionals working in Nigeria’s information and public relations sector.
The governor acknowledged the important responsibilities performed by public communication officers in ensuring that government activities, policies and programmes are effectively communicated to citizens and other stakeholders.

He said Onwubuariri’s dedication to his duties would remain part of his legacy and expressed sympathy to those who worked closely with him.
Yusuf specifically extended his condolences to the deceased’s wife, Mrs Catherine Ezinna Onwubuariri, and other members of the bereaved family.
He also prayed for comfort for the Presidential media team and colleagues of the late official as they mourned his passing.
The governor urged the family to draw strength from the contributions made by the deceased during his lifetime and his service to the country.
Yusuf prayed to Almighty God to forgive Onwubuariri’s shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
He further asked God to grant the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
The governor’s message adds to condolences following the death of the Presidential Villa official, whose career was centred on information dissemination and public relations.
Yusuf said the loss would be deeply felt by the family, colleagues and the wider community of government information and communication professionals.
