Chibuzor Chinyere, the general overseer of Omega Power Ministry, has announced that his adopted autistic son, Aboy, is now married.

The announcement comes just days after the cleric sparked massive public outrage with his controversial marriage proposal. The controversy initially erupted last week when the pastor offered substantial financial incentives to any woman willing to marry Aboy.

At the time, Chinyere stated that the prospective wife could be a single mother or an older woman but emphasized that she “must not be autistic”.

The proposal immediately triggered widespread backlash online, with numerous critics condemning the move as highly transactional and insensitive. Following the outrage, the cleric issued a public apology to women.

He explained that his actions were driven entirely by his deep concern for Aboy, whom he said cannot speak or fully comprehend his physical development and his emerging sexual urges.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Chinyere announced that Aboy officially got married on Sunday.

Sharing photos from the wedding ceremony via his Facebook page, the OPM founder revealed that the new bride is a “single woman of God”. He also proudly announced that the union came with the promised incentives.

“Aboy Chibuzor finally marries today, March 29, 2026,” Chinyere wrote on his social media page. “A single woman of God. N10 million wedding gift, free house, overseas vacation, and N20 million after 10 years if Aboy is still alive,” he stated, adding that there are “many more gifts loading.”

The cleric further disclosed that other members of his congregation also supported the union financially. “A member of OPM church also donated N1 million and another donated N200,000,” he noted.

Chinyere also claimed that the marriage is already having a positive impact on the young man’s condition, as the boy had previously been unable to eat without assistance.

“And miracle has already started as Aboy is now feeding himself without someone feeding him,” the pastor added.

Expressing his deep faith in Aboy’s future, he said, “And I believe before six months God will heal him and he will begin to speak. There is nothing God cannot do.”

In a subsequent Facebook post aimed at clarifying rumors, Chinyere provided a few more details about his new daughter in law.

“Point of correction, Aboy Chibuzor’s wife is a single mother of 3 and not a virgin,” he wrote, reinforcing that “she is also a woman of God.”
