Popular Nigerian TikTok content creator, Peller, has revealed that actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele played a key role in helping him regain his freedom following his arrest and detention in Lagos late last year.
Peller made the disclosure on Saturday while exchanging pleasantries with Akindele at the premiere of the movie Love Notes, where he publicly expressed gratitude to the actress for her intervention during his legal ordeal.
The social media influencer was arrested in December 2025 after being involved in an alleged deliberate car accident in Lagos State. Following the incident, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) ordered his arrest and prosecution on allegations of reckless driving.

According to reports, the incident triggered widespread attention on social media due to Peller’s popularity and the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Speaking at the movie premiere, the TikToker credited Akindele with helping to secure his release from prison, describing her intervention as life-changing.
“She was the one who helped me when I was in prison. She was the one who helped my life,” Peller said.
Although details of Akindele’s involvement were not disclosed, the actress’s gesture has drawn praise from fans, many of whom have commended her for extending support beyond the entertainment industry.
The development adds to the growing public image of Funke Akindele as not only a leading figure in Nollywood but also a prominent supporter of emerging talents and individuals in distress.
