The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has acknowledged that the Bola Tinubu administration cannot solve all the challenges facing Nigeria’s capital, but assured residents that deliberate efforts are being made to improve their quality of life.

Speaking at a media parley in Abuja on Monday, Wike said no government — regardless of how long it stays in power — can fully resolve all societal issues. However, he emphasized that the current administration is focused on initiatives that directly benefit the people of the FCT.

“We are not magicians. The problems in Abuja have been there for years. But what is important is that we are making conscious efforts to address them,” the minister said.

He cited ongoing infrastructure projects, security improvements, and urban renewal efforts as evidence of the government’s commitment. Wike called for patience and cooperation from residents, noting that sustainable development takes time and consistent investment.
