The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has attracted more favour ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

There are claims that Obi has the support of the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo and some past leaders in the country.

A source that spoke with This Day disclosed that former president, Goodluck Jonathan has signed onto the Obi presidential ambition.

According to the source, others like Ibrahim Babangida and Theophilus Danjuma are sympathetic to Obi’s ambition.

The source noted that some people who are not talking are working behind the scene for Obi’s presidency.

The source speaking on Obi gaining more support ahead of the 2023 presidential election said, “There are also indications that others like Generals Ibrahim Babangida, and Theophilus Danjuma are sympathetic.

“The thinking is that Nigeria is in a deep hole and they don’t want people who will continue digging to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari. So, there is a near consensus that Obi approximates the kind of leadership that Nigeria needs at the moment.
