The pageant world is mourning the loss of 18-year-old beauty queen Kadance Fredericksen, who tragically passed away in a car accident in Florida.
Fredericksen, a former Miss Okaloosa County Teen USA, was driving when her vehicle collided head-on with a tractor-trailer, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The accident, which occurred earlier this week, is still under investigation. The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained minor injuries but was not arrested.
Fredericksen’s inspiring journey from adversity to success had touched many lives. She overcame severe childhood struggles, including homelessness, hunger, and abuse, before being adopted by her father and stepmother.
Despite her turbulent past, she excelled in beauty pageants, securing titles and accolades. In her final Instagram post on February 7, she shared the news of receiving a $40,000 scholarship from the Ellison McCraney Ingram Foundation.
“I am incredibly grateful to be selected as a recipient of this year’s Ellison McCraney Ingram Foundation $40,000 Scholarship,” she wrote, celebrating her academic aspirations.
Fredericksen was also deeply committed to charitable causes. She founded ‘Kada’s Promise,’ an initiative that collected and distributed 12,000 teddy bears and blankets to children facing abuse and trauma.
