The Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has denied knowledge of any agreement between President Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2023 election.

Recall that Senator Rufai Hanga, a key founding member the APC, had implied that there was an arrangement between Tinubu and Buhari on the 2023 presidential election.

But when asked by Daily Trust if such pact existed between Buhari and Tinubu to hand over power to the latter, Amaechi said he does not know.

He stated that as the director-general of APC Campaign Organisation during the 2015 and 2019 presidential election, he did not witness such decision, adaeventsnews gathered.

Amaechi said: “Beyond being the director-general of the campaign organisation, I was the chairman of the Governors Forum.

“Most of the decisions on who would emerge as party chairman in 2014 were done by the forum, so I should know those ones.

“But if there was a private meeting between President Buhari and our leader, Tinubu, I wouldn’t know.

“If it was a public APC meeting and I was not there, then something must be wrong. I was not told that there was an agreement that power should be handed over to Tinubu.”
