Given rising demand for batteries across all industries, German technology group, Bosch, wants to earn more from the sale of batteries and battery technology.
Bosch hoped for a jump in sales in this area, from around 100 million euros in 2020 to around 250 million euros (293 million dollars) by 2025, the group announced on Thursday.
For the entire period between 2020 and 2025, Bosch aimed to generate sales of one billion euros in the sector, including from the sale of entire factory suites of equipment for battery production.
As a conglomerate, Bosch was active in many fields; for example, it also produced batteries for the automotive industry and other sectors.

In terms of sales, the industrial technology division is the smallest of the four central corporate divisions in the Bosch Group.
By far, the most important was the subcontracting division for the automotive industry, which in 2020, accounted for well over half of the total turnover of 71.5 billion euros.
Other central corporate divisions were consumer goods as well as energy and building technology divisions.
Bosch is headquartered in Gerlingen, near Stuttgart in the south-west of Germany and employs 395,000 people worldwide.
