Former Manchester United and Real Madrid defender, Raphael Varane has been appointed as a new board member for Serie A club Como.
This was disclosed by a football transfer expert in a tweet via his X account on Saturday.
“Raphael Varane has been appointed as a new board member for Como, all signed. The decision has been confirmed after his retirement,” Romano tweeted.

Varane’s appointment comes after he recently retired from professional football in September. The Frenchman decided to hang up his boots after an injury-plagued stint at Como, bringing an end to a glittering career that included successful spells with Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Widely regarded as one of the finest defenders of his generation, Varane won numerous domestic and international titles, including the FIFA World Cup with France in 2018. His transition into a leadership role is seen as an opportunity to apply his vast experience, tactical knowledge, and winning mentality to football administration and player development.
