Imuran joins London City Lionesses

Super Falcons defender, Rofiat Imuran has joined English Women’s Championship club, London City Lionesses.

Imuran penned a three-year contract at Hayes Lane.

The 20-year-old previously played for French club, Stade Reims.

The centre-back helped the Red and Whites secure consecutive top six finishes in her two-year spell at the club.

She expressed her delight after penning the contract.

“I’m very excited to join London City Lionesses and start a new chapter in my career in England.

“Everyone has been so welcoming since I arrived and I look forward to being able to help the team on the pitch,” Imuran told the club’s official website.

“I wanted to come to London City because the coach presented an interesting project and I wanted a different challenge.”

Imuran is in line to make her debut against Charlton Athletic on Sunday.

Meanwhile, The foreign pros are Rofiat Imuran, Flourish Sabastine (Stade de Reims/France), Reilly Adebowale (Bohemian/Republic of Ireland), Aminat Bello (Otero College/USA).

The Falconets will tackle Germany, Korea Republic and Venezuela in Group D of the competition.
