Former Governor of Jigawa State and one of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, founding fathers, Sule Lamido has put politics aside and given his daughter in marriage to a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara State.

Surayya Sule Lamido was married to Yazid Danfulani, also the Commissioner of Commerce and Industries in the state.

The couple’s relationship comes despite their political differences.

The event also brought together staunch members of both APC and PDP together setting aside all their differences.

This is not the first time children of top members of the two major political parties tie the knot that is helping in changing Nigerians’ mindset to look beyond political differences.

The wedding Fatiha was held on Saturday at Lamido’s the country home in Baimana town, Birnin Kudu Local Government Area, and was presided over by Khakifa Suleiman, the Imam of Bamaina, and N100,000 was paid as the bride’s price.

The PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, served as the bride’s trustee while the Deputy Governor of Zamafara, Mr. Nasiha served as the groom’s trustee.

The wedding Fatiha was witnessed by top politicians including, the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, and many bigwigs of the party.

Governors who attended the event include Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State; Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State; the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu; and members of the party’s Board of Trustees led by Walid Jibril.

Other dignitaries were former Vice President, Namadi Sambo; former National Security Adviser, Aliyu Gusau; and former ministers of Special Duties and Police Affairs: Tanimu Turaki and Adamu Maina as well as former governors of Bauch, Gombe, and Kaduna and other dignitaries for the two parties.
