Police operatives in Katsina State have neutralized four terrorists in a gun duel after an attack on some communities in the state.

The well armed bandits with AK-47, riding on motorcycles, stormed the villages shooting sporadically into the air and eventually rustled several animals from Tugu Gari and Yammama village in Matazu and Malumfashi LGA, respectively.

However, the police in a sting operation, raided and burnt down three terrorists camp, located at Yelwa and Hakinbiri Village in Danmusa LGA, where the hoodlums hibernate.

They also burnt down the hideout of a bandit kingpin, identified as Na-Iraqi, at Safana LGA, recovering two operational motorcycles belonging to the terrorists, 131 rustled cows and 55 sheep.

The Force Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Gambo Isah, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on the recent achievement of the command in fighting crimes and criminality in the state, adaeventsnews gathered.

According to SP Gambo, three of the terrorists killed were blocked by the DPO Kankara and his team at the exit route to Rugu forest at Kanyar-Nogora, Kukar-Sheka village in Kankara LGA where they engaged them in a gun duel.

The Dutsima police area Commander and his team also killed one terrorist when they foiled an attack on Tugu Gari village in Matazu LGA and rescued 32 cows and 23 sheep after they blocked the hoodlums at Yantumaki forest.

The Police Commissioner in the state, CP Idrisu Dauda Dabban, commended the efforts of the police operatives in repelling the terrorists, urging members of the public to continue to offer cooperation to security agencies in the war against terrorism in the state.
